San Francisco Late Night Coalition

SFLNClogo.jpg

The San Francisco Late Night Coalition is a broad-based group composed of promoters, activists, dj's, musicians, artists, community members and club owners. Our goal is to protect, preserve and promote San Francisco's late-night culture.

We work to encourage understanding and awareness of the regulations and issues surrounding after-hours entertainment in San Francisco, and to provide a voice for the rights and the passions of this diverse community.

We are an integral part of the cultural fabric of San Francisco, and make significant contributions to the economy and artistic diversity of this city.

The SFLNC was formed in the summer of 1999 to counter continuing pressure on nightclubs and late-night venues in San Francisco. We formed as a registered California Political Action Committee, committed to shifting the tides for nightlife, and to protecting, preserving and promoting San Francisco's world-famous nightlife.

In the past eight years, we have done more than many people thought possible: we've changed the climate of late-night, and more venues are getting late-night permits. We have opened up conduits of communication with neighbors, law enforcement, policy makers and the providers and customers of nightlife in order to help reach consensus on how to address everyone's needs. We've changed the minds of people who hadn't realized how important nightlife is to our great city. And best of all, we have changed laws that will give an entirely new future to late-night entertainment in San Francisco.
